Filmstrip/tape presentation for high-schools 

* 1972 >  Introduction to Russia.  Toronto: OISE Modern Language Centre, 1972.  A half-hour filmstrip/audiotape programme kit designed to introduce Canadian students to the Russian people, culture & language.  Included is a 50-page Teacher's Guide,giving background information, directions for presentation, suggestions for follow-up activities, a complete text of the taped narrative, and additional information about each filmstrip-frame; also materials for duplication & distribution to students.  Used in a number of Canadian high schools & universities in the 1970s.

Materials for first- and second-year students 

* 1987 >  Notes sémantiques / Semantic Notes / Semanticheskie spravki.  Ottawa: University of Ottawa, Department of Modern Languages & Literatures, photocopies).  A 51-page bilingual (English/French) reference glossary of key Russian words & phrases introduced in the first-year Russian course, plus numerical expressions, a picture word-list, classroom instructions, conversation guides, geographical terms and words to ten Russian folk-songs.  Later abbreviated to a ten-page glossary of key Russian words and phrases.  Accompanied by cassette audiotape.  Circulated to students 1987-89.

* 1987 >  Notes phonétiques / Phonetic Notes / Phoneticheskie spravki.  Ottawa: University of Ottawa, Department of Modern Languages & Literatures, photocopies).  A 7-page bilingual (English/French) brochure outlining Russian sounds & spelling rules for first-year students.  Accompanied by cassette audiotape.  Circulated to students 1987-89.

* 1987 >  Notes grammaticales / Grammatical Notes / Grammaticheskie spravki.  Ottawa: University of Ottawa, Department of Modern Languages & Literatures, photocopies).  A 50-page bilingual (English/French) reference guide to Russian nouns, pronouns, adjectives, numerals and verbs for first- & second-year students, with most grammatical terms also given in Russian.  Circulated to students 1987-89.

* 1988 >  METRO.  Ottawa: University of Ottawa, Department of Modern Languages & Literatures, photocopies).  A 20-unit set of instructional materials for first-year Russian, comprising a Conversation guide (Razgovornik) with Russian text and illustrations only, a parallel Grammar guide (Spravochnik) giving translations & grammatical explanations in French & English, and exercise booklet (Uprazhnenija) -- 364 pp. in all, plus a set of audiocassette tapes (Kassety).  Used as text for SLV 1049 (1987-89) and External Affairs courses (1987-90).

* 1991 >  Russian: a brief handbook for Canadian families (self-published, photocopies).  A 17-page booklet, together with audiocassette tape, for Canadian families hosting Belarus children for a temporary stay in Canada.  Circulated in Ottawa and other centres in Ontario and Alberta (1991-2001).

* 1998 >  Notes sémantiques/phonétiques/grammaticales / Semantic/Phonetic/Grammatical Notes -- Reissue of the first three items above in a single volume.  Otttawa: Cahier Legas, 1998.
